The Future Convenience Store Contest is a robot technology contest for automation of various tasks in a convenience store (stocking shelves, replacing products, serving customers, and so on.) By setting up a contest involving issues that are familiar and practical, we are encouraging innovation in technology related to service robots, which has not yet reached practical application. At the same time, we are inviting ideas about new services and convenience store designs which will be made possible by the introduction of robot technology, to create a new vision of convenience stores in the near future.
